3@Marion Guesthouse opened our doors in 2015 when Gerhard and Susan Marais used up all their savings to start a new business. They spent almost two decades working for some of our country’s biggest hotel groups before they had the amazing opportunity to buy this beautiful house in one of Pretoria’s most peaceful suburbs.

The house, which was built in the 1930’s, captured their imagination with it’s beautiful garden and wooden floors in the main house. Now expanded to eight rooms all centered around the garden, it has been updated with modern amenities including fridges in all rooms and high speed Wi-Fi.

Colbyn’s location was a huge selling point. Convenience and exclusivity rarely combine as beautifully as they do in this suburb. You find virtually every manner of essential amenity within a 3km radius while maintaining it’s peaceful character. We believe the quiet Jacaranda lined streets will enchant you as much as it enchanted us.

Since then we have built and baked, cleaned and planted. To date we have welcomed guests from more than 95 countries and supported more than 220 local suppliers. Our amazing team has ironed more than 22 792 pillow cases, baked around 24 458 eggs and poured more than 34 000 cups of coffee (mostly for ourselves.) We also launched the Ultimate Pretoria Bucket List to promote and support our beautiful city and make sure you create even more great memories while you are here.
